The Future of Tax Technology and Services
Description Richard Susskind’s presentation will begin with a discussion of various ways in which businesses should plan and think about the future, looking 5-10 years ahead.

His fundamental claim will be that tax services will be transformed over the coming decade by two forces: first, ever more powerful information technologies and, second, the commoditisation of services.

To support this claim, he will identify a series of fundamental trends in technology and build on these to identify a range of technologies that are likely to disrupt the conventional way that tax services are delivered.

Richard will go on to introduce a model that explains the way in which tax services are evolving, noting how this will bear on tax authorities. He will suggest that the future will be characterised by the “multi-sourcing” of tax work and a shift towards “mass customisation”.
