    It was Vertex’s distinct pleasure to host over 60 global indirect taxation leaders at the inaugural Vertex Exchange Europe 2008, held at the majestic Conrad Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.

    Exchange Europe 2008 explored the strategies to leverage tax automation at the enterprise level and break through political and geographic boundaries for true tax management globalization.

    Insight, Acumen, Vision

    Vertex CEO Jeff Westphal opened the proceedings on the value of automation in helping corporate tax departments uncover new efficiencies and transitioning the tax department from a compliance channel to a high-value contributor for the entire enterprise.

    Special guest Richard Susskind OBE, highly lauded tax technologist. offered his vision for the future of tax technology. Richard espoused the virtues of open programming languages to provide seamless information sharing between tax technology and enterprise wide systems.

    Special guest Stephen Bill of the European Commission examined the current tax landscape and gave attendees a glimpse into the legislative changes that will reshape the nature of global taxation in 2009 and beyond.

     

    Attendees were offered a glimpse into the powerful compliance and reporting capabilities of Vertex® O Series® 5.0. Through an instructor led session, attendees learned how this newest version of Vertex’s premier product offers enhanced global tax management capabilities including the specially tailored capability to manage lease tax compliance on a global level.
